I have been using Pentax SLR camera equipment since my introduction to photography. In 2006 I made the transition from 35mm film cameras to the Pentax digital system. Versatile and lightweight equipment allows me to react quickly to the continually changing weather of Britain and Ireland. I use a variety of sharp Pentax lenses (mostly wideangle primes) which allow me to make high quality print enlargements from the scanned film or digital masters. I also carry a Manfrotto tripod equipped with a ballhead and a set of neutral Lee filters. These colourless filters allow me to record an image closer to what my own eyes see by overcoming the technical limitations of the camera equipment. In the digital darkroom I try to create a finished photograph that matches my memory of the scene as closely as possible. A few of my photographs feature some degree of colour shift or motion blur due to the long exposures involved. However, in the majority of my images, the dramatic light is a result of research, patience and, of course, luck. What you don't see in these photographs are the many hours I've spent hiding under damp boulders waiting for the rain to lift. I hope that they were worth the wait. Current Equipment List Camera
