Dunseverick Castle

Dunseverick Castle is an ancient site. It is believed that one of the royal roads from Tara, seat of the Kings of Ireland ended at Dunseverick castle. Saint Patrick visited the castle in the 5th century. Later it became the clan seat of the O'Cahan clan around 1000AD to the mid 1600s. Today, only a small ruin remain, this being the old gatelodge.
