The Giant's Harp and The Chimmney Tops, 100 years on
Causeway Headlands, Co. Antrim

This distinctive feature is known as the Giant's Harp. It can be seen on the headland east of the Giant's Causeway in a fantastic cove known as The Amphitheatre. The Harp is a curved colonnade of volcanic basalt. This view was taken from the old lower path which is now closed to the public. The harp can now be viewed from the viewpoint across the cove. Above the Harp you can see the distinctive Chimmney Tops which are long exposed columns of hexagonal basalt. These are a distintive feature of the skyline of the Giant's Causeway headlands.
