Whitepark Bay View,
County Antrim

Whitepark Bay is an ancient place. Some of the earliest evidence of human settlement in Ireland has been discovered in raised beach above the bay. In the extensive dune system, are several Neolothic passage tombs and nearby there is a dolmen known as the Druid's Altar. The bay was also an important location for the export of axes and arrow heads. The strand here is perhaps the finest in Northern Ireland. This photograph was taken from the high layby above Whitepark Bay, looking towards Portbradden with Bengore Head beyond.
