The ruin of Templastragh Church dates back to the mid 1500s. Embedded in the gable wall of the ruin is a much older cross slab which is said to have come from St Goban's original church, built nearby in 648AD. It is reputed that St Goban was guided to build his church here by a shining flame, hence Templastragh, Church of the Flame. This photograph shows the ruined church interior including an old gravestone, the last which remains standing.
