This photograph was taken overlooking Larrybane Bay towards Carrick-a-Rede island which can be seen in the distance. Larrybane is backed by a line of impressive chalk cliffs. The chalk here was once quarried and many of the old workings can still be seen today. Large fractures run through the cliffs here and huge blocks have tumbled down to the sea. Carrick-a-Rede is the location of the famous rope bridge which allows the visitor to cross between the mainland and Carrick-a-Rede island. The bridge spans 20m and crosses 30m above the sea below. Other Keywords: Ballintoy, Larrybane quarry, Carrick-a-Rede
