Binevenagh mountain rises just to the north of Limavady and marks the western extent of the Antrim plateau. This plateau was formed over 60 million years ago when molten lava spilled from the earth. Below the cliffs is an atmospheric amphitheatre where there are many ususual rock spires and gullies.
